Both my children have their swimming lessons at the Spectrum. My 5 year old has 1:! lessons and my 3 year old group lessons. Both have come on amazingly with the tuition here. The 1:1 are pricey and there can be a waiting list but as they are solely focussed on your child you do get your money's worth. If you have 1:1 lessons the child is also entitled to free use of the leisure pool (conditions apply) which is great for an after lesson frolic! The group class is small enough that my daughter gets adequate attention (this can be a big problem in group classes I find). The shallow waters of the teaching pool have been brilliant for my daughter's confidence in the water, knowing she can stand up if she needs too, has increased her bravery and willingness to have a go.
The swimming facilities at the Spectrum are excellent - leisure pool, teaching pool, 25m pool, diving pool, a wide array of clubs and classes available, BUT it is severely let down by the cleanliness of the changing rooms - one word GRIM. If I was rating cleanliness it would be a big fat ZERO.
